1 Schedule Creation: this
week I will be creating a realistic schedule in order to ensure I meet the
deadline on the 15th February. The objectives that were outlined
in my treatment will be completed by this deadline. This schedule will be a
realistic, detailed and outline targets in and out of class time. Homework
activities will be completed in study time and there should be 3 tasks per
week. However, I will have to take into consideration other subject deadlines
and exams. I will also set up an organised file structure named ‘Unit 5’ this
will ensure all of my work is stored in one area.
2 Schedule
Creation: Today I will continue to create my schedule and look at other
commitments I have in my other A Levels including scheduled exams – this will
enable me to produce a realistic schedule. In order to do this I will need to
ask my other subject teachers about deadlines for homework/coursework during
the next six weeks. I will then begin to plan out the next two weeks of my
schedule in detail, whilst prioritising what needs doing first.
3 Font/Colour research: Today I
will be researching into different fonts that I will use in my articles, this
is likely to be done on www.dafont.com as it offers a wide
range of different fonts. I will choose fonts that are suitable to my audience,
as well as the content of the article. I will also research into other
magazines from the same genre, I will look at the different colour schemes
for different articles and how the colour scheme works with the article.
4 Project
Monitoring & Photo
shoot plans/ Locating reference material to
co-ordinate lighting, costume, poses for photo shoots: During
this lesson I will assess my achievements during this week, I will go into
detail on how well I have done this week and any improvements that I could
make- this will be done on a weekly basis. After this I will begin to plan my
photo shoots for my other two double page spread articles. I will sketch out
some ideas and use my flat plans to aid me. This will also include me
creating a collage of images, which will give me ideas.
Homework 1: In one of my free lessons I will set up my
A2 blog on www.blogspot.com This will be where I present my work during this part of the
course.
Homework 3: Complete the schedule during my free
lessons.
Homework 2: I will create my
contingency plan explaining what could go wrong and how I can avoid any
issues. This will include about 10 potential problems and a detailed account
of how I will reduce the risk of these happening.
Exams/other subject deadlines: Friday 11th- World development
coursework deadline.

1 Language identification and planning &
Article planning: This lesson will involve me planning my
articles and the language techniques I will use within them. This will
involve the tone of my article, any semantic fields which I choose to use,
persuasive language, humour, etc. I will begin to write a draft of each
article, which I will then analyse and complete as homework.
2 Finding additional statistical
research for each individual story/breakout boxes & Researching story
style and how to write/structure stories: For the first part of this lesson (45 mins)
I will research into facts and figures that may be used in my break out box
in my health article on chocolate. These will be short, snappy facts that
will interest my audience.
For the
second part of this lesson (45 mins) I will research into prices for high
street fashions, this will be relevant for my article on charity vs high
street fashion.
3 Carrying
out the questionnaire & Writing headers, sells, & copy for each of my
three articles/front cover: I will create a quick questionnaire that
will be aimed at people in my target audience asking questions such as, “Do
you think that wearing clothes from charity shops is becoming more acceptable?”
there will be about 5 or 6 quantitative questions, this will allow me to make
comparisons and include results in my article. I will then carry out the
questionnaire I created in the previous lesson and put the results onto pie
charts in Excel. I will then begin to write my headers and sell lines for
each article and also for my front cover. Whilst doing this I will begin to
think about the layout and plan of my front cover.
4 Project Monitoring & Catch up on work
that may not have been completed during the week: During this lesson I will assess my
achievements during this week, I will go into detail on how well I have done
this week and any improvements that I could make- this will be done on a
weekly basis. I will then have time to go back through this week’s work and
catch up on any incomplete work.
Homework 1:
Monday- Complete research for
each articles
Homework 2:
Friday- Complete any incomplete

1 Today I will carry out
model and personnel meetings for both my health article and my fashion
article. I will ask each individual model for their timetable of the week and
ask which day and time would suit them best. I understand some people do not
have free periods when others do, so I will ask my models if they mind and
their teachers will mind if they miss some of a lesson to be in a photo
shoot. I am having this meeting a week or at least a few days in advance so
that my models have time to organised time off with their teachers and this
will also give me an opportunity to find replacement models, should I need
to. This lesson will consist of me being extremely organised and making clear
notes on when the best time would be. I will then book my photo shoot for the
appropriate time and date- either at some point next week or the latter part
of this week.
I will
then buy the props that I need for this photo shoot, which in this case
include chocolates. I can do this in a free lesson and buy it from the local
shop.
2 During this lesson I plan to start creating my health article double
page spread. I will do this on a new document in InDesign and will use other
magazines in the same genre (Elle, Company, Glamour, etc) and create a layout
which is familiar to my target audience. Once I have created the general
layout of this article I will be able to insert my images (after Friday) and
my article text. I will
have an image covering the left page and three columns of text on the right
page, including a masthead, kicker and breakout box. In this lesson I will
arrange the page, ready to insert the text and images.
3 This lesson will be dedicated to writing up my health article; I
should have all the appropriate information and facts to write it up. I will
use the language identification and planning sheet that I prepared last week.
I aim for the article to be between 400 and 500 words long and to take up 2
columns.
4 Project Monitoring & THE
DAY OF MY PHOTO SHOOT
During this lesson I will assess my
achievements during this week, I will go into detail on how well I have done
this week and any improvements that I could make- this will be done on a
weekly basis.
This is also the day of my first photo
shoot, during my free period I will carry out the photo shoot. This photo
shoot will be for my health article, as well as my front cover. The costumes
will be the same for both; however the poses and angles will be different. I
will then spend my media lesson going through each photograph individually
and deciding which ones I will use and would be best suited for my article. I
will also create a contact sheet- this will show each photograph and have
comments on how good or bad they are. I will create this using the program Adobe
Bridge, which will allow me to view a lot of images on one document.
Homework 1: Complete call sheets
Homework2: Work on InDesign, improving my
first double page spread- Happy Never
After? This will include me going back and looking at my audience
feedback (from my focus group).
Homework 3: Proof read my health article and
ask a friend to read it too. This will ensure there are no mistakes or errors
and that it flows/ is fluent to read. I can also gain an opinion of a peer,
who I will ask for a critical view as well as a positive one.

down both the left and right side.
